Fox News has learned about the White House's initiative to invite EU leaders
Officials of the administration of US President Donald Trump themselves sent invitations to European leaders, this step was not an initiative of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. This was announced on August 18 by Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy.
He pointed out that European leaders could allegedly help Zelensky dissuade Trump from imposing an unfavorable deal on him.
"The officials here (in the American administration. — Ed.) they say that the official representatives of the White House invited these world (European. - Ed.) leaders, so that they receive information from the person who just spoke with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin," the correspondent said.
Trump and Zelensky will hold a meeting to discuss a peace treaty with Russia on August 18 in Washington. The negotiations are scheduled for 20:15 Moscow time.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni arrived at the White House.
