The White House has asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to wear a business suit to a meeting with US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office. This was reported on August 18 by The Wall Street Journal newspaper, citing sources.

"The White House asked Zelensky to wear a suit and tie to meet with the president...> The request was transmitted through the department responsible for the White House protocol," the publication says.

On the same day, the Axios portal reported that Zelensky would wear a black jacket to a meeting with the American president, but his suit would be incomplete.

On August 18, at 20:15, Trump and Zelensky will begin negotiations in Washington. Then there will be a summit with European leaders. The central topic of both meetings will be the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
