A new school building No. 58 on the Volokolamsk Highway is ready to open in Moscow. This was announced on Monday, August 18, by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
He noted that the school's cooperation with Rostec will allow students to prepare for the choice of engineering professions and fill the shortage of technical personnel in the city. According to him, agreements have also been signed with leading universities in Moscow for this purpose. The mayor thanked the students and parents for choosing this school and expressed the hope that many of them would continue their studies in engineering and mathematics classes, the Moscow City News Agency reported.
The school was built on the territory of the former Tushino airfield, construction began in 2022 and was completed in January 2025, writes Moscow 24. The building is designed for 825 students, includes 33 universal and specialized classrooms, laboratories, an IT training ground, a media library, workshops, gyms and a multifunctional atrium.
Earlier on August 18, the governor of the Moscow Region, Andrey Vorobyov, said that 26 new schools would be opened in the Moscow region by September 1. According to him, 57 schools are also undergoing major repairs under the presidential program. 360.ru .
