Russian oil supplies to Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline have been suspended due to power outages. This was reported on August 18 by the Slovak channel TA3.

"According to our operational information, Russian oil supplies via the Druzhba oil pipeline from Ukraine to Slovakia are being interrupted due to a power outage. Pumping to the Czech Republic was not interrupted due to sufficient operational reserves in Slovakia," said Barbara Puttsova, a representative of the Mero company, quoted by the TV channel.

She also noted that the company is monitoring the situation. Mero is in contact with Transpetrol, the operator of the Slovak part of the Druzhba oil pipeline.

On August 14, the International Energy Agency (IEA) warned of a possible supply and demand imbalance in the oil market. Thus, an increase in global resource production from October may begin to face a decrease in market demand. At the same time, global oil demand has "already decreased many times" this year by a total of 350 thousand barrels per day.
