An emergency regime was introduced in the Stanichno-Lugansk district of the LPR due to fires on August 18, and fire and rescue units of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations are working on site.
"The fire in Malinovsky forestry has spread to other woodlands. The situation is aggravated by strong variable winds, the flames spread to residential buildings, several houses burned down. An emergency regime has been introduced in the district, an operational headquarters has been set up," said Albert Zinchenko, head of the municipality.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, fire and rescue units are working at the scene of the fire, including about 60 specialists and 13 pieces of equipment from the department. It is noted that due to the strong wind, the fire is spreading rapidly.
By now, the fire has covered 20 hectares.
On July 13, a large fire on the roof of an apartment building was eliminated in the LPR. It is specified that during the work, firefighters did not allow the fire to spread to a neighboring residential building. Due to the dry weather and strong winds, more than 130 fires were recorded in the region during the day.
