The death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 62,000 people since the outbreak of hostilities in October 2023. This was announced on August 18 by the enclave's Ministry of Health.

"Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023, the total number of dead has reached 62,004, and 156,230 injured," the ministry said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

It is specified that over the past 24 hours, 60 dead and 344 injured people have been admitted to hospitals in the Gaza Strip.
