The ambassadors of the European Union (EU) countries are considering the possibility of ignoring the military parade in Beijing in honor of the anniversary of the end of World War II due to the possible presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the participation of the Russian military. This was reported on August 18 by the South China Morning Post (SCMP) newspaper, citing sources.

"European ambassadors in Beijing are discussing plans to cancel a visit to a large—scale military parade in China next month, taking into account the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the possible participation of Russian troops," the publication says.
