Tu-95MS missile carriers flew over the Barents Sea

The Tu-95MS strategic missile carriers of the long-range aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) performed a planned flight over the neutral waters of the Barents Sea. The Russian Ministry of Defense publishes footage of the crews on August 18.

The flight lasted more than four hours. The crews of the Su-33 aircraft of the Navy provided fighter escort. At some stages of the route, the missile carriers were escorted by foreign fighters.

Long-range aviation crews regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Arctic, North Atlantic, Pacific Ocean, as well as the Baltic and Black Seas. The flights of the Russian Air Force are carried out in strict accordance with the international rules for the use of airspace.

Earlier, on July 23, Tu-95MS missile carriers flew over the neutral waters of the Bering Sea. The flight lasted more than 15 hours. The escort was provided by the crews of Su-35S and Su-30SM aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
