Effective use of drones in the economy to be discussed at the Wings of Sakhalin Forum

Ways to achieve Russia's leadership in the field of unmanned aircraft systems by 2030 will be discussed at the International Forum of Unmanned Vehicles of All Environments "Wings of Sakhalin", which will be held at Sakhalin Expo on the territory of the Fluffy drone port from September 6 to 8. The event will be held as a visiting venue for the tenth anniversary Eastern Economic Forum. The WEF is organized by the Roscongress Foundation.

During the event, representatives of government, business, the scientific community and education, experts and leading industry experts will discuss key aspects of the use of aerial, land, water, underwater and other drones, as well as consider the effective use of unmanned vehicles in various sectors of the economy. Among them are ensuring transport accessibility, environmental protection and resource management. Special attention will be paid to the implementation of the national project "Unmanned Aircraft Systems" and the topic of drone flight regulation.

"The Wings of Sakhalin Forum will become an important platform for sharing experiences and finding answers to the most pressing challenges in the field of unmanned systems. Our region is becoming a space for testing and scaling the best Russian and international practices. Drones are already helping us reduce risks and increase economic efficiency. Here on the islands, we are creating a future in which drones – air, land or water – will become our reliable assistants," said Valery Limarenko, Governor of the Sakhalin Region.

The Sakhalin Region actively uses drones in daily practice. Almost 70 scenarios for the use of drones have been developed on the islands. Drones detect hogweed thickets, unauthorized landfills, conduct ice reconnaissance, deliver small medical supplies, help catch poachers and search for people lost in the forests. Thanks to drones that detect fires in a timely manner, the area of forest fires in the region has been reduced tenfold. "The development and use of unmanned systems, as well as regulation in this area, is an absolute trend of recent times, relevant for all countries. Their implementation in various spheres of the economy and the state economy increases the productivity of activities, reduces many processes. Sakhalin's experience in working with drones of different classes, the close attention paid to this topic in the region, and the development of specialized infrastructure allow the island region to consolidate its status as one of the main discussion platforms in this area. I am convinced that the Wings of Sakhalin Forum will receive a high level of representation and will allow us to form concrete initiatives in the field of unmanned systems," said Igor Pavlov, First Deputy Director of the Roscongress Foundation and Director of the Eastern Economic Forum.

The youth track of the Forum is focused on career guidance and attracting new specialists to the industry. A separate program has been prepared for residents and guests of the Sakhalin region. The exhibition "The Future is closer than it seems: innovations in unmanned technologies" will feature workshops, seminars and presentations. Here, everyone can get acquainted with the latest developments in the field of unmanned vehicles.

As part of the sports program, professional drone races, competitions of leading Russian athletes in a domestic simulator, drone basketball and drone billiards, master classes on practicing piloting skills in visual mode, competitions of designers "Faster, higher, stronger", aerial combat, flights on quadcopter simulators, as well as mini-FPV are planned..

From 5 to 7 September, the Wings of Sakhalin Aviation, Music and Sports festival will be held on the territory of the Fluffy drone port with the participation of local and invited bands.
