A temporary ban on fishing was introduced in Primorye
Since August 10, a temporary ban on amateur fishing in Pacific salmon spawning grounds has been in effect in Primorsky Krai. The restrictions do not apply to all bodies of water, but only to those rivers that flow into the Sea of Japan.
IA UssurMedia, citing the regional Ministry of Natural Resources, writes that the ban did not affect the basin of the Ussuri River, including its tributaries, as well as marine areas where amateur fishing is allowed. The ministry stressed that the restrictions apply exclusively to Pacific salmon spawning areas and do not cover the entire river basin.
At the next meeting of the commission for the extraction of anadromous fish species, a list of the main spawning rivers will be considered, indicating the location of the spawning grounds. Then it will be published. According to the head of the regional Association of Amateur and sport fishing, Yuri Nurmukhametov, it is necessary to find a balance of interests between government agencies, organizations that reproduce the salmon population, and local amateur fishermen. The task is to preserve the salmon resource while taking into account the interests of fishermen.
Earlier it was reported that salmon fishing in Russia may fall and the price of fish of this breed — pink salmon, salmon, sockeye salmon and others - may change. According to the new draft law of the Cabinet of Ministers, businesses will have to renegotiate contracts for the use of fishing grounds with Rosrybolovstvo by December 30, 2025 and pay a total of about 200 billion rubles for this. Otherwise, the plots will be put up for auction and companies may lose them.
