During a meeting on August 18 with Acting Governor of the Rostov Region Yuri Slyusar, Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the request to impose a moratorium on the bankruptcy of farmers who found themselves in a difficult situation this year due to weather conditions.

Slyusar noted that during the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a support measure such as a moratorium on bankruptcy, especially for small and medium-sized farms, as there was a high probability that they would put all their land up for sale and then go to large agro-industrial holdings.

"I agree, Yuri Borisovich, let's do it," the president replied.

Slyusar clarified that the corresponding letter from the Rostov region will be prepared and transmitted.

"Agreed," Putin agreed.

During the meeting, Slyusar also reported to Putin on the development of the region. He noted that agricultural processing is very developed in the Rostov region. According to him, it is necessary that the products are not just exported, but remain in the region and then processed into more marginal goods.
