The prosecutor requested 15 years in prison for the defendant in the case of the attempted murder of Prozorov.

The state prosecution has asked Rostislav Zhuravlev, accused of blowing up the car of former officer of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasyl Prozorov, to be sentenced to 15 years in a high-security penal colony. This was announced on August 18 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the hall of the Second Western District Military Court.

The prosecutor requested that Zhuravlev spend five years of the requested term in prison. The state prosecution also asked for a fine of 600,000 rubles.

Earlier it was reported that Zhuravlev pleaded guilty, testified against other defendants and made a deal with the investigation. The court is considering his case in a special order.

Zhuravlev's accomplices, Vladimir Golovchenko and Ivan Paskar, were also arrested. Golovchenko admitted his guilt and said that he had placed an explosive device under the car of a former officer.

According to the prosecutor's office, the purpose of the assassination attempt was to destabilize the situation in the region and discredit the authorities. The organizers of the terrorist attack targeted Prozorov because of his blogging activities. The indictment was approved on July 22. Five people are involved in the case, two are on the international wanted list.
