Sobyanin announced a competition for representatives of the tourism industry

Moscow will select the best representatives of the tourism and hospitality industry. The Guiding Star contest will be held in the capital for the 26th time, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.

"For the first time, in addition to the competition commission, an expert council is being created that will determine the best in special nominations," Sobyanin wrote on Twitter. The council will include representatives of tourism organizations and professionals from other related fields, from culture to urbanism, the mayor emphasized. Applications for participation in the award will be accepted on the portal "RUSSPASS.Business" from 1 to 30 September.

This year, new categories have appeared in the competition program, Sobyanin noted. The jury will determine the best in the nominations "Public spaces and urban environment", "Technology and the future", "People and personnel". They will also choose the "Best Cultural Heritage site after restoration" and the winner of the "Best Impression for Children" category.

In 2024, the winners of the competition were selected in 15 nominations in five areas.: "Hotels", "Gastronomy", "Media", "Impressions and hospitality", "Breakthrough and reboot of the year". There were also six special prizes, including the best tour guide, a hotel administrator, a hospitality school and a travel agency.
