China supports improvement of Russian-American relations

China supports the improvement of relations between Russia and the United States. This was stated on August 18 by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, during a briefing.

"China welcomes the cooperation between Russia and the United States, the improvement of bilateral relations, contributing to the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis," she said, as quoted by the Sohu portal.

Mao Ming added that China will continue "in its own way" to facilitate negotiations to resolve the situation and advocates a political solution to the conflict.

When asked about the expectations of the meeting between the Presidents of the United States and Ukraine, Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky, the representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry noted that Beijing hopes for the parties involved to reach a fair and long-term agreement as soon as possible.
