The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), amid the deteriorating situation at the front, plan to adopt 15,000 ground-based robots in 2025. This was stated on August 18 by the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, Alexander Syrsky, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

"This year, we plan to receive 15,000 ground—based robotic platforms for various purposes," said Syrsky.

In addition, he noted that a difficult situation is developing for the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the line of combat contact.

On the same day, Syrsky said that the Red Army area is now the most difficult for the Ukrainian army. He added that the Russian army continues its offensive and is constantly attacking the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On November 14, 2023, Verkhovna Rada deputy Yevgeny Shevchenko said that former commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army Valery Zaluzhny told President Vladimir Zelensky about his idea to create an army of robot soldiers. According to the deputy, Zaluzhny saw such technologies at one of the exhibitions in New York and hurried to inform the Ukrainian leader that the Ukrainian Armed Forces needed them.
