Meloni opposed Macron's proposal to send military to Ukraine
Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni, at a meeting of the coalition of the willing, which was held in a remote format, opposed the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron to send a peacekeeping contingent of European countries to Ukraine. This was reported on August 18 by the newspaper Corriere della Sera.
"Russia has 1.3 million soldiers: how many should we send to cope with the task? If one of our soldiers is killed, will we pretend that nothing happened, or should we react?" Meloni said.
