A criminal case has been opened in Saratov over the death of a girl from a falling sculpture in the city center. This was reported on August 18 in the press service of the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in the Saratov region.

According to preliminary data, the girl was in the city park. Maxim Gorky with his mother on the evening of August 17, when a decorative wooden sculpture fell on the child. The girl died on the spot from her injuries.

"In Saratov, UK investigators have opened a criminal case on the fact of improper performance of work and provision of services that led to the death of a child," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.

It is noted that the investigators conducted an inspection of the scene, and the necessary actions are currently being taken to establish the causes and circumstances of the incident.
