Changan car production allowed in Tatarstan

There is a potential for opening a representative office or an assembly plant of Changan in the Republic of Tatarstan. This was stated by the head of the Regional Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina, RIA Novosti reported on August 18.

"To promote the idea of localization, the republic has not only an automotive component base, but also Innopolis, where joint developments in this area can be carried out," Minullina said.

She pointed out that Tatarstan is attractive as a platform for possible localization of the automotive component base in terms of industrial and IT infrastructure, and personnel training in this area is also underway in the republic.

In April, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited Changan Automobile Plant in Chongqing. Minullina stressed that this company is "truly unique and high-tech."
