- The intelligence officer of the Russian Armed Forces announced the withdrawal of experienced units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Krasnoarmeysk
Experienced units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have begun to withdraw from Krasnoarmeysk in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), they are being replaced by mobilized ones. This was announced on August 18 by a Russian army intelligence officer with the call sign Veles.
"The media units that shoot reports there are already quickly leaving, that is, leaving their twin brothers there," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
The soldier noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were retreating towards the village of Grishino, and poorly trained mobilized soldiers were being sent to replace them in Krasnoarmeysk.
"Prisoners very often say that they were just captured there, they were just caught there, they were there in the logistics, that's how they constantly say that 'I'm a driver,' 'I'm a cook,'" Velez added.
Earlier, on August 3, the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were in a critical situation in the Red Army area. According to him, Russian troops are advancing towards the city from several directions at once. In addition, the head of the DPR stressed that the highway between Krasnoarmeysk and Konstantinovka had come under the control of the Russian Armed Forces.
