US President Donald Trump is striving to truly find a solution to the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on August 18 by Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for cooperation with foreign countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).

"Donald Trump and his team are striving to find a real solution," he wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter), commenting on the publication of the US president on the Truth Social network about his upcoming meeting with European leaders.

Moscow and Washington are closer to "necessary solutions," Vladimir Putin said after the summit in Alaska.

On August 18, Trump will hold a meeting in Washington with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to discuss a peace treaty with the Russian Federation. Trump's meeting with the Ukrainian leader will take place at 20:15 Moscow time. After that, at 21:15, the American leader will greet the Europeans. They will take a photo at 21:30 and start negotiations at 22:00.

On August 17, the American leader stressed that Zelensky could immediately end the conflict if he renounced his claims to Crimea and his intention to gain membership in NATO.
