Spain announced Trump's possible refusal to support Ukraine
US President Donald Trump may completely stop helping Ukraine if Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky does not accept his terms of the peace treaty. This was reported on August 17 by the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia.
"Trump may completely abandon support for Ukraine if Vladimir Zelensky rejects the terms of a peaceful settlement proposed by him," the article says.
It is noted that Trump, after consultations with European leaders, will seek from Kiev to conclude a peace treaty without a preliminary truce. The publication suggests that Zelensky may again be publicly expelled from the Oval Office in case of refusal under the terms of the peace treaty.
On August 16, Fox News reported that after the conclusion of the Russian-American summit, Trump called Zelensky and the leaders of the European Union (EU). On the same day, Zelensky announced a meeting with the American leader.
At the same time, the Bild newspaper reported that either German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron, or British Prime Minister Keir Starmer would go to Washington to participate in the meeting between Zelensky and Trump.
