President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is not able to express his own position — they write him texts that he simply voices. On August 17, Ukrainian MP Artyom Dmytruk shared this opinion with Izvestia.

According to him, the lack of independence of the head of the Kiev regime becomes obvious in his recent speeches, where expressions uncharacteristic of Ukrainian politicians are heard.

Dmytruk noted that in a personal conversation with US President Donald Trump, Zelensky could make completely different decisions from those previously discussed with his European partners.

The deputy also clarified that the talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump in Alaska are an initiative that contributes to the peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.

"Thank God, Trump met with Putin at the truly first peace summit in Alaska, where people who are looking for peace actually met," he stressed.

On August 15, a meeting between Putin and Trump took place in Anchorage. Following the meeting, the Russian president noted the American leader's desire to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

After the conclusion of the Russian-American summit, Trump called Zelensky and the leaders of the European Union (EU). At the same time, the President of Ukraine announced a meeting with the American leader. Later, the Bild newspaper reported that Trump intends to first hold a personal meeting with the Ukrainian leader, and then meet with the leaders of the EU countries.
