In the Belgorod region, three civilians, including a child, were injured as a result of attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced by Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov on August 17.

"In the village of Nikitskoye, Borisovsky district, a man was injured by a drone strike on a car. <...> In the Belgorod region, a mother and her 13-year-old daughter received barotrauma," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

It is specified that the victims with shrapnel wounds and multiple injuries were taken to a medical facility.

In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the settlements of Nechayevka, Oktyabrsky, Shebekino, Novaya Tavolzhanka, Grayvoron, Doroshch, cars, private houses and outbuildings were damaged there, the governor added.

Earlier that day, Gladkov reported that a 12-year-old boy was injured in the Belgorod region due to an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He was found to have a mine explosion injury and a blind shrapnel wound to his leg.
