British actor Terence Stamp has passed away at the age of 67. This was reported on August 17 by the Reuters news agency, citing the actor's family.

"He left behind outstanding works, both acting and writing, that will continue to touch and inspire people for many years to come. <...> We ask for privacy at this sad time," the agency quoted the actor's family as saying.

It is specified that Stamp died on the morning of August 17th. The cause of death is not reported.

Stamp began his acting career in the 1960s in London. The first famous project with his participation was the movie "Billy Bud". He was nominated for an Oscar for his role in the film. Subsequently, Stamp became best known for the films Superman and Superman 2. In the movies, he was in the role of the villain General Zod. In addition, Stamp also took part in the movie "Star Wars. Episode I— The Hidden Menace."
