France pointed to the sabotage of the peace process in Ukraine by EU leaders

With their visit to Washington to meet with US President Donald Trump, European leaders, along with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, are sabotaging the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on August 17 by the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot.

"This Monday, all the conflict-obsessed European lunatics will arrive at the White House with Zelensky to try to influence Trump! <...> Their goal is to sabotage the peace process!" he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

The politician noted that he could hardly imagine what contempt the American leader should feel "for this bunch of corrupt people."

Moscow and Washington are closer to "necessary solutions," Vladimir Putin said after the summit in Alaska.

On August 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump met in Anchorage. Following the meeting, Putin noted the American leader's desire to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

After the conclusion of the Russian-American summit, Trump called Zelensky and the leaders of the European Union (EU). At the same time, the President of Ukraine announced a meeting with the American leader. Later, the Bild newspaper reported that Trump intends to first hold a personal meeting with the Ukrainian leader, and then meet with the leaders of the EU countries.
