Migrant workers must work in Russia without families and leave after completing their work. This was stated on August 17 by the leader of the Fair Russia — For Truth party, the head of the Duma faction, Sergei Mironov.

"Even if migrants are really needed somewhere - although many regions of the Russian Federation have abandoned them, and the sky has not fallen — but even if they are needed somewhere, please: without any families, they came, worked, got the money and left," he told TASS.

Mironov stressed that this way there will be enough places in kindergartens and schools in Russia.

On August 11, the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, signed a decree restricting the recruitment of foreigners to work as couriers. It was noted that the decision was aimed at combating shadow employment, improving the quality and safety of services in the courier sector, as well as creating new jobs for Russian citizens. Before that, on July 28, Beglov had banned migrants from working in taxis. A three-month transition period is provided for employers, during which they will be able to terminate existing employment relations and attract new employees.
