Moscow aims to develop multifaceted Russian-Indonesian relations and increase the effectiveness of joint coordination on various multilateral platforms, including BRICS. This was announced on August 17 by the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"Our country is aimed at further promoting Russian-Indonesian cooperation, increasing the effectiveness of coordinating our steps on multilateral platforms, including BRICS," reads a message posted on the Telegram channel.

The Ministry also congratulated Indonesia on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the country's declaration of independence. It is also noted that this year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Indonesia.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that Moscow and Jakarta are engaged in an intensive political dialogue, including at the highest level. The heads of the foreign ministries of the two countries regularly maintain contacts and conduct a "reconciliation of hours" on topical issues of the bilateral, regional and global agenda.

On June 19, the Presidents of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, adopted a declaration on strategic partnership between the two countries. In addition, Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign countries, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), and Rosan Ruslani, CEO of the Sovereign Wealth Fund of the Republic of Indonesia, signed an agreement to create a €2 billion Russian-Indonesian investment platform.

A day earlier, on June 18, during a meeting with the heads of international news agencies on the sidelines of the SPIEF, Putin noted that the world is changing dramatically, and Asian countries are changing rapidly, the structure of their economies is changing. The Russian leader also stressed that Russia has something to offer Indonesia in the field of high technology.
