The Dnepr group of troops destroyed French mercenaries in the Kherson region

Servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation of the Dnepr group of forces destroyed a group of French mercenaries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the right bank of the Dnieper River in the Kherson region. This was announced on August 17 by the operator of the attack unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the group of forces with the call sign "Hub".

"We observed foreign mercenaries... We arrived with all our suitcases. And it was clear that these were students. <...> There were people of European appearance, there were dark-skinned people, and there were light-skinned people. But we realized that these were the French by their chevrons. <...> In the end, we destroyed them all. For about an hour," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to the operator, the Dnepr group of troops observed foreign mercenaries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who wanted to strike at the positions of the Russian military. He clarified that with the help of drones it was possible to hit the positions of the mercenaries, adding that the Russian military were able to see not only French, but also Georgian militants on the right bank of the Kherson region.

Due to UAV attacks, more than 190 settlements were left without power, water and communications.

On August 14, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian Armed Forces had destroyed the position of the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Sumy region with an Iskander strike. It was clarified that as a result of the strike, the HIMARS system launcher and escort vehicles were destroyed. The losses of the AFU personnel amounted to up to 10 militants.
