Lavrov and Szijjarto discussed the Ukrainian conflict following the Alaska summit
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto discussed the conflict in Ukraine during a telephone conversation following the results of the last Russian-American summit in Alaska. This was announced on August 16 by the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"The parties discussed the Ukrainian crisis in the context of the outcome of the meeting of the leaders of Russia and the United States in Alaska on August 15," the department's Telegram channel said.
They added that the ministers also discussed cooperation between Russia and Hungary, as well as the schedule of the bilateral political dialogue.
The meeting of the leaders of the United States and Russia took place on August 15 in Anchorage, Alaska. Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that Russia, like the United States, would like an early cessation of hostilities in Ukraine. He drew attention to the fact that the elimination of the root causes of the crisis in Ukraine should be the basis for a settlement.
