To protect personal data on the Gosuslugi portal from intruders, users are advised to delete SMS messages from unknown numbers and not to resort to the help of third parties when submitting applications through their personal account. This is stated on August 17 in the materials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

"To protect personal data on a Single Portal when receiving government services, we recommend not responding and deleting SMS messages from unknown phone numbers. <...> When changing a cellular subscriber number, it is recommended to make changes to the created profile of the Single Portal account," TASS cites the contents of the document.

The ministry stressed that this advice does not apply to the only short number, 0919, from which Russians receive messages asking them to evaluate the quality of public services provided.

In addition, the Interior Ministry noted that when logging into a personal account from other people's devices, it is important not to save the password and login for automatic entry on them. The ministry also recalled that it is not recommended to log in to the Gosuslugi portal with VPN technologies enabled.

On August 13, experts from the Roskachestvo Center for Digital Expertise also gave advice on how to protect your personal account at Gosuslugi from hacking. They recommended that you go to the Security section on the portal and enable two-factor authentication there. They also called for the use of complex passwords consisting of complex combinations and symbols.
