The American authorities have detained the head of the Israeli government's cyber division, Artyom Tom, on suspicion of pedophilia. This was reported by The Guardian on August 16.

"An employee of the Israeli government's cybersecurity service was arrested by Las Vegas police <...>, who conducted an undercover investigation into Internet users who tried to sexually corrupt children," the newspaper writes.

It is clarified that Tom was detained at a cybersecurity conference, where he spoke on behalf of his country. It soon became clear that he holds the position of Director General of the Israeli cyber service and previously worked in the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as he wrote on his social networks.

At the same time, the Prime Minister's office categorically denied the fact of the detention, claiming that Tom was only deported due to the lack of a required visa.

"The employee, who does not have a diplomatic visa, was not arrested and returned to Israel as planned," the prime minister's office said.

The Telegraph newspaper reported on April 5 that the British charity Siobhan's Trust had hired a criminal who had served a prison sentence for pedophilia to work with Ukrainian children. It was clarified that this was the result of "serious shortcomings" in the procedures for checking new employees before their employment in the fund.
