As a result of an attack by a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on the Voronezh Region, one person was injured. This was announced on August 17 by the governor of the region, Alexander Gusev.

"According to preliminary information, a railway station track fitter was injured in one of the municipalities. He has been hospitalized in a regional hospital," he said in a message on his Telegram channel.

According to Gusev, a total of five drones over three districts of the region were detected and suppressed by the air defense and electronic warfare forces on duty.

The governor also added that as a result of falling UAV debris, the power line at the railway station was damaged, which caused several trains to be delayed.

Gusev noted that experts are already preparing to start troubleshooting. In addition, a store and a clothing market started burning in the same area due to the attack, which fire crews are working to extinguish.

In addition, a gas pipe fire has started in one of the districts, which is already being eliminated.

The governor also clarified that the threat of repeated attacks in three municipalities remains.

Gusev reported on the same day that the air defense forces and electronic warfare systems had repelled an attack by several unmanned aerial vehicles over the territories of Voronezh and the Voronezh Region. As a result, the glazing of a number of apartments was damaged in one of the residential buildings.
