In a letter allegedly sent through her husband, American President Donald Trump, to Russian President Vladimir Putin, US First Lady Melania Trump asked the Russian leader to protect children. The full content of her message was published on Fox News channel on August 16.

"By protecting the innocence of these children, you will do more than just serve Russia — you will serve humanity itself. Such a bold idea goes beyond human differences, and you, Mr. Putin, are able to make this dream come true with the stroke of a pen today," the letter says.

Melania Trump noted that parents need to nurture the hope of the younger generation and stressed that every child shares the same dreams.

On August 15, Reuters reported that Trump had given Putin a letter from his wife. According to the agency, she mentioned in her message "the difficult situation of children in Ukraine." At that time, the full contents of the letter were not provided.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
