Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed by phone the recent summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and White House Chief of Staff Donald Trump in Alaska. This was announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry on August 16.

"On August 16, a telephone conversation took place between the Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation, Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov, and the Republic of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, on the initiative of the latter," the department's Telegram channel said.
