This was announced on August 16 in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

"The [UAE] Foreign Ministry highly appreciated this historic meeting, confirming that constructive dialogue is the best way to bring points of view closer and resolve conflicts. The joint efforts of the two presidents to end the Ukrainian crisis inspire hope for strengthening global peace and stability," the message says.

The agency also noted Trump's efforts to strengthen dialogue and find peaceful solutions. Thus, the meeting of the two heads of state was an important step towards creating an atmosphere of trust on the European continent, the UAE Foreign Ministry stressed.
