The FSB has published footage of the detention of those preparing a terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge

Employees of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia have detained men who were preparing a terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge while using a car with explosives. The department's Public Relations Center released relevant footage on August 18.

According to the investigation, the car with an improvised explosive device arrived in Russia from Ukraine and was supposed to travel to the Krasnodar Territory by truck.

As one of the detainees said during the interrogation, the car was then planned to be handed over to him — the driver was supposed to drive it into the Republic of Crimea through the Crimean Bridge and become an unwitting suicide bomber.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that FSB officers had stopped an attempt by the Ukrainian special services to launch a new attack on the Crimean Bridge using a car packed with explosives. Russian law enforcement officers defused an explosive device in a Chevrolet Volt and detained all those involved in its presence in Russia. A criminal case has been opened.
