In Bryansk, the head of the customs department and his subordinate were arrested on suspicion of receiving a particularly large bribe. This was announced on August 16 by the press service of the Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office.

"They are charged under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe in the form of money on an especially large scale")," follows from the material in the Telegram channel.

According to investigators, the defendants demanded more than 1 million rubles from two road carriers for transporting prohibited sanctioned goods across the border. During the transfer of funds, one of the intruders was detained by law enforcement officers. The court chose a preventive measure for him in the form of detention for two months.

It clarifies that the accused may face a sentence of up to 15 years in prison. At the moment, all participants in criminal activity are being identified.

Earlier, on August 7, in Krasnoyarsk, two traffic police officers and two local residents were arrested on suspicion of bribery. It was reported that the chief inspector organized a criminal scheme to receive money for registering vehicles that did not meet technical requirements. A criminal case was opened into the incident under paragraph "a" of Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe committed by an organized group").
