The Dutch government supports the efforts of US President Donald Trump to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on August 16 by the Acting Prime Minister of the Kingdom, Dick Schof.

"We welcome President Trump's efforts to achieve lasting peace in Ukraine. It is encouraging to see that now there is a prospect of a summit between the United States, Ukraine and Russia with the support of Europe," follows from the message that Schof posted on the social network X (former. According to him, a positive step is also the joint work of Europe and the United States on the necessary security guarantees for Kiev. He stressed that the kingdom will continue to provide military, financial and political support to Ukraine.

The leaders of the Russian Federation and the United States have not yet found a full understanding, but they have made significant progress.

The meeting between Putin and Trump took place on August 15 at the American military base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, and lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes. Following the meeting, the Russian president noted the American leader's desire to resolve the conflict. Putin noted that Russia is also interested in ending the conflict in Ukraine, but this requires eliminating all the root causes of the crisis.
