President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has no chance to continue the current military conflict after the last summit between the leaders of Russia and the United States in Alaska. This was announced on August 16 by Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky.

"I don't see any chance for Zelensky to keep the situation and continue the <conflict> after the meeting [with US President Donald] Trump and [Russian President Vladimir] Putin Putin," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

The MP pointed out that if European leaders receive a peace plan from Trump, even a partial agreement on its implementation would collapse the entire pro-Ukrainian coalition and reduce Ukraine's defense capabilities.

"There are difficult decisions ahead, which will be political suicide for Zelensky and the Servants of the People," he added.

Zelensky announced earlier on August 16 that he had held telephone conversations with American leader Donald Trump and the heads of European countries, where the summit of Russia and the United States in Alaska was discussed. He noted that he had again asked the United States and European leaders to provide security guarantees for Ukraine.

The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump took place on August 15 at the American military base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, and lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes. During the press conference, the Russian president noted the American leader's desire to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
