The governor of the Ryazan region, Pavel Malkov, announced on August 16 that Monday, August 18, was declared a day of mourning in the region in connection with an emergency at an enterprise in the Shilovsky district, which killed 11 people.

"In connection with the tragic events in the Shilovsky district, August 18 has been declared a day of mourning in the Ryazan region," the Telegram channel said.

He clarified that flags would be lowered at half-mast in the region, and cultural institutions, organizations, and television and radio companies were asked to cancel entertainment events. Malkov also expressed his condolences to the relatives of the victims. The governor promised to provide all necessary assistance to the families of emergency victims and victims.

The emergency at the plant in the Shilovsky district of the Ryazan region occurred on August 15. The explosion killed 11 people and injured 130. Later, a headquarters for the elimination of consequences was established. A criminal case has been opened into the incident. In addition, 100 rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation were sent to eliminate the consequences of the fire at the enterprise.
