French President Emmanuel Macron, after the Russian-US summit in Alaska, said on August 16 that another meeting of representatives of the "coalition of the willing" on Ukraine should take place soon.

He added that he welcomes Washington's willingness to contribute to the settlement of the current conflict, as stated by US President Donald Trump.

"Any lasting peace will have to be accompanied by inviolable security guarantees. <...> We will work on this with them and with all our partners in the coalition of the willing, with whom we will meet again soon in order to achieve concrete progress," Macron wrote on his page on the social network X (former.
