French President Emmanuel Macron, after the Russian-US summit in Alaska, said on August 16 that another meeting of representatives of the "coalition of the willing" on Ukraine should take place soon.

He added that he welcomes Washington's willingness to contribute to the settlement of the current conflict, as stated by US President Donald Trump.

"Any lasting peace will have to be accompanied by inviolable security guarantees. <...> We will work on this with them and with all our partners in the coalition of the willing, with whom we will meet again soon in order to achieve concrete progress," Macron wrote on his page on the social network X (former. Twitter).

On the website of the Council of the European Union (EU), a message appeared on the same day that the leaders of European countries expressed support for Trump for his efforts to resolve the Ukrainian conflict and achieve peace. The statement notes the EU's willingness to work with Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky towards a trilateral summit.

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with his American counterpart on August 15 in Anchorage, Alaska. Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Cooperation with Foreign Countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), stressed that the dialogue between the leaders was positive and constructive.
