Reuters: Melania Trump sent a letter to Putin through her husband
During the talks in Anchorage, American leader Donald Trump presented Russian President Vladimir Putin with a letter authored by his wife Melania. This was reported on August 15 by the Reuters news agency, citing sources in the US administration.
"The wife of the President of the United States, Melania Trump, raised the issue of the plight of children in Ukraine," the publication said.
The agency noted that the full contents of the letter had not been made public. Melania herself did not accompany her husband during his trip to Alaska.
The meeting of the leaders of Russia and the United States took place on August 15 at the American military base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska. It lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes. At a press conference following the talks, Putin noted the American leader's desire to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. He also drew attention to the fact that Moscow is interested in the same thing, but first of all it is necessary to solve all the root causes of the crisis. The press conference ended without answering the journalists' questions.
