In the Ryazan region, August 18 was declared a day of mourning in connection with the emergency in the Shilovsky district, which killed 11 people and injured 130. This was announced on August 16 by the head of the region Pavel Malkov.

"Flags will be lowered at half-mast throughout the region. Cultural institutions, TV and radio companies and organizations have been asked to cancel entertainment events," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

Malkov expressed his condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims, and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the accident. The governor promised to provide the families with all necessary assistance.

The emergency at the enterprise in the Shilovsky district of the Ryazan region occurred on August 15. The explosion killed 11 people and injured 130. The authorities have set up a headquarters to eliminate the consequences. A criminal case has been opened into the incident. An additional 100 rescuers of the Russian Emergencies Ministry were sent to the scene to eliminate the consequences of the fire at the enterprise.
