Medvedev appreciated the first results of the talks between Putin and Trump in Alaska
On August 16, Russian Deputy Security Council Chairman Dmitry Medvedev announced the first results of talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump.
He noted that a full-fledged mechanism of meetings between Russia and the United States at the highest level was restored without ultimatums and threats.
Also, as Medvedev noted, Putin personally and in detail outlined to the US President our conditions for ending the conflict in Ukraine. According to the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, following the conversation, Trump refused to escalate pressure on Russia.
"It is important that the meeting proved that negotiations are possible without preconditions and simultaneously with the continuation of their work. The main thing is that both sides have directly placed the responsibility for achieving future results in negotiations on the cessation of hostilities on Kiev and Europe," Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel.
