In the Ryazan region, Monday, August 18, was declared a day of mourning in connection with the incident in the Shilovsky district, which killed at least 11 people. This was announced on August 16 by the governor of the region Pavel Malkov.

"Due to the tragic events in the Shilovsky district, August 18 has been declared a day of mourning in the Ryazan region. Flags will be flown at half-mast throughout the region. Cultural institutions, TV and radio companies and organizations have been asked to cancel entertainment events," the Telegram channel said in a statement.

Malkov offered condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the victims of the emergency. The governor promised to provide them with all necessary assistance.

The emergency at the plant in the Shilovsky district occurred on August 15. According to the latest data, 11 people were killed and 130 injured due to the explosion. Later, a headquarters for the elimination of consequences was established. A criminal case has been opened into the incident. The Ministry of Emergency Situations additionally sent 100 rescuers to eliminate the consequences of the fire at the enterprise.
