A work producer who was involved in an accident at a thermal power plant (CHP-2) in Vladivostok, as a result of which five workers fell from a height, three of whom died, was placed under house arrest. This was announced on August 16 by the press service of the Primorsky Krai Prosecutor's Office.
"A preventive measure has been chosen against the producer of work in case of a group accident at CHPP-2. <...> Taking into account the prosecutor's position, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of house arrest for a period of 1 month and 29 days," the agency said in a Telegram channel message.
In the near future, a preventive measure will be chosen against the head of the construction and installation site, who is also involved in the incident.
It clarifies that the progress and results of the investigation of the criminal case under Part 3 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of safety rules during construction or other work that negligently resulted in the death of two or more persons") is under the control of the prosecutor's office.
On August 14, the investigative department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in the Primorsky Territory reported that five contractor workers had fallen down while carrying out repair work at a height. Three men died immediately, and two more were injured as they received medical attention.
Later it became known that the officials involved in the tragedy were detained by law enforcement officers.
