The president of FC Real Madrid sued El Confidencial for €1 for publishing his audio recording.

The president of the Spanish football club (FC) Real Madrid, Florentino Perez Rodrigue, won a court case against the online publication El Confedencial, initiated due to the illegal publication of an audio recording of his private conversation - now the online newspaper is obliged to compensate him for moral damage in the amount of €1. This is evidenced by the information published on the website of the press service of the football club.

It is specified that the illegal publication occurred in 2021. The judge who ruled in this case acknowledged that the form and content of the released audio message show that the intention of the editorial board was to undermine the public image of Perez Rodriguez.

The court ordered the newspaper to prepare a material within 15 calendar days in which its decision will be published, as well as to stop the illegal use of this message available to El Confedencial.

"To jointly compensate the plaintiff for damages in the symbolic amount of €1, as well as to bear all court costs incurred during the trial," the document concluded.

The newspaper Le Figaro learned on July 17 that the captain of the French national team, Kylian Mbappe, is suspected of bribing law enforcement officers. The amount of the bribe was 180 thousand euros. It is clarified that the athlete allegedly issued five checks for € 30,000 each to the special police unit responsible for the security of the French national team. The football player himself and his entourage reported that the money was transferred legally, as a reward for working "with dedication."
