Darchiev announced the preparation of documents for the restoration of flights between the Russian Federation and the United States.

Russia has developed a package of documents for the resumption of direct flights with the United States. This was announced on August 16 by the Russian Ambassador to Washington, Alexander Darchiev, noting that the issue was under discussion.

"We have prepared documents [on restoring direct flights between Russia and the United States]. <...> They are being discussed," Darchiev said in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.

The Ambassador also expressed hope that the Russia-US summit in Alaska would contribute to the normalization of diplomatic relations.
