The administration of The Lakefront Anchorage hotel in Alaska, where Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stayed on the eve of the Russian-American summit, expressed its joy at the opportunity to receive the head of the department. Jimmy Wu, the general manager of the hotel, told about this on August 15.

"We welcome all international guests, but this is a special group. It's an honor for us! This has made our hotel a part of history," he told RIA Novosti.

During the discussion, it was noted that Lavrov had not expressed a preference for a room with a view of the lake, despite the fact that the hotel is located on the shore, which also functions as an airstrip for light-engine seaplanes.

The three-on-three talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and White House Chief of Staff Donald Trump began in Anchorage at 11:30 a.m. local time (22:30 a.m. Moscow time). In addition to the Russian leader, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov are present at the meeting.

The Russian president's flight landed at Anchorage Airport earlier in the day. At the meeting on the airfield, the heads of state shook hands and exchanged a couple of remarks, after which they proceeded to the meeting place in Trump's car.
