Zakharova compared the state of the Western media with insanity
Western media are in a state of near insanity amid talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump in Anchorage. This was announced on August 15 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"The Western media is in a state that can be called madness, turning into complete madness," she wrote on her Telegram channel.
According to her, this is due to the fact that Western media representatives have been talking about Russia's alleged isolation for three years, but today they "saw the red carpet" that was spread out in front of Putin in Anchorage.
The three-on-three talks between Putin and Trump began in Anchorage at 11:30 local time (22:30 Moscow time). In addition to the Russian leader, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov are present at the meeting.
The Russian president's flight landed at Anchorage Airport earlier in the day. At the meeting on the airfield, the heads of state shook hands and exchanged a couple of remarks, after which they proceeded to the meeting place in Trump's car. Later, the presidents began negotiations.
